HARC General Membership Meeting Minutes
May 14, 2019

The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by Zach, KE8BSM.


The program for the evening was Ottawa County’s Emergency management Director, Nick Bonstell. Nick talked about many areas of Ottawa Counties plans for emergencies. 

Secretary’s Report:

	Accepted as posted. 

Treasurer’s Report (Rich, WA8MTI):
	
	 
	Total:			$ 3,107.54 

	Treasurer’s report was accepted as read.

Upcoming Events:

	VE Testing:
	The upcoming VE Testing session will be on June 1, 2019 at the IRA Swap at 10:00 am
	There will also be a VE test session on July 13 at 6:00 PM at the Chick-awa location. 	
      “Ham in a Day”:
	Ham in a Day will be held at 1pm on August 10th at Chick-Owa.  VE Testing follows the 		event at 6pm.  For more information, or to register for the Ham in a Day class, please visit: 	http://tinyurl.com/holohiad 

	E.A.T.:
	This month’s E.A.T. meeting will be held on Friday, May 28nd, 2019 lead by Jeff, KD8THX

	2 Meter Net:
	The 2m net of the Holland Amateur Radio Club is held each Monday at 7:30pm on the 147.06 	repeater.  All amateur radio enthusiasts are welcome to join the net.  Please check in and join the 	fun!  Feel free to reach out to Kim, N8KAL to take Net Control.

	Open Radio Night:
	Friday evenings at Chick-Owa, starting around 6pm.  Watch the reflector 	(https://k8daa.groups.io/g/k8daa/topics  for exact dates/times.

	 
	Ham Fests:

	Old Business:
Tulip Time: K8TB reported that 55 positions between the three parades were filled, and all went very well. 

A new UHF antenna was installed at the Holland Hospital for the DMR repeater. This made a significant difference in operation and range. Thank you to Jeff, KD8THX and Rich, WA8MTI

      New Business:
      Jeff and Dan and others installed a random length antenna at the Chick-awa complex. 
      
      And the best part of the meeting:
      
      Dave, WA8RSA presented the Holland ARC’s “Ham of the Year Award” to 
      
     Jack Wesseldyke, KE8CIO for his 
     “Significant and enthusiastic involvement with the club.”
