General Membership Meeting Minutes May 8, 2018 The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by Tom, K8TB. Program by Dave DeVoss, KF8QL – Solar Power at Springwater Farm Business portion of the meeting was called to order at 8:06pm by Tom, K8TB. Secretary’s report for March was accepted as posted. Treasurer’s report (Rich, WA8MTI): General Fund = $2,734.15 Membership Fund = $185.46 Cash on hand = $5.00 Total = $2,924.61 Treasurer’s report was accepted as read. Upcoming Events: “Ham in a Day” Ham in a Day will be held at 1pm on at Chick-Owa Sportsman’s Club. VE Testing follows each event at 6pm. This month’s E.A.T. meeting is going to be on May 22, 2018 at 7:00PM led by Jeff, KD8THX. 2 Meter Net – The 2m net of the Holland Amateur Radio Club will begin at 7:30 at 147.06. All amateur radio enthusiasts are welcome to join the net. Please check in and join the fun! Feel free to reach out to Ed to take Net control. Simplex Net - Plan to be on 2 Meter Simplex at 146.430 MHz, now starting at 8:30P in the evening. This net is headed up by Aaron Folkert, KD8VUN. If you would like to act as net control or have any ideas for improving the net, please contact Aaron. Hope to hear you on the air! - Aaron is looking for net control for March 20th and April 3rd, contact Aaron if interested. Ham Fests: Check the aarl.org website. Old Business: Tulip Time – Tom, K8TB asked everyone who is volunteering to bring their HT as a backup to system that is being asked to use by Tulip Time Committee. June 9th and 10th is the ARRL VHF Contest. Details can be found on the ARRL website at: http://www.arrl.org/june-vhf The new Yaesu DR2X fusion repeater is up and running. Todd, W8YHF, will be looking into switching our yahoo group to groups.io – to register K8DAA. Todd will research and come back to the club with recommendations. Field Day – Jeff, KB8QAP will be chair for Field Day 2018 and Josh, KE8DXB will be assisting to help put things together for the event. New Business: A new screen and projector is needed for the club with our move to the Chick-Owa Sportsman’s Club. Dan and Jack, KE8CIO working as a committee, and discuss the option of possibly trying a 55” television. A motion was made to reserve East Saugatuck Park for Field Day 2018 on June 23rd and 24th, 2018. Josh, KE8DXB will reach out to the board at East Saugatuck Park to see if is available for Field Day weekend in June. The business meeting was adjourned at 8:32pm.
