General Membership Meeting Minutes February 9, 2015 The meeting was called to order at 6:57pm by Tom, K8TB. Secretary's Report: Minutes of the January 2015 meeting were accepted as published on the HARC website. Treasurer's Report: General Fund: $4,724.25 Membership: $86.76 Total: $4811.01 Treasurer's report was accepted as read. Opening Remarks: VE Testing session coming up Sat Feb 14 New Hams dinner was attended by about 40 people. Approximately 75 new Techs in Ottawa and Kent counties in the last year. Digital volt meters and clocks were given out as door prizes. The February E.A.T. meeting will feature Bryan KD8LDX constructing a tape measure antenna at 7pm at the Red Cross. Bring a 1 inch tape measure to build your own. Chuck’s CW class is ongoing. The “Post Festivus” party was attended by about 22 people this year. Taking suggestions for a new venue for next year. Skywarn Training will be held at the Jenison fine arts building. February 19, 7:00pm. The April HARC meeting will be at Ottawa county central dispatch at Filmore Complex. You must submit for a background check. See the HARC website for details. Upcoming events: Programs: February: VE Testing Sat Feb 14 Skywarn Training Feb 19 March: April: HARC meeting/field trip to Ottawa County Central Dispatch VE Testing: VE Testing is conducted at the Red Cross on the second Saturday of each even- numbered month at 6pm. “Ham in a Day” events are held prior to the April, August, and December VE testing sessions at 1pm. The registration form for the December Ham in a Day class is located here: http://tinyurl.com/harchiad Old Business: August 1 at the GR Home School building will be second annual Spark in the Park. 5 clubs are cosponsoring the event, with HARC as the lead. 3-8pm. The new Yaesu digital repeater has not yet arrived. Expected to arrive by the end of February. New Business: Chuck brought some hats and other misc items to give away. A request was made to include meeting topics in the monthly upcoming meeting announcements. The business meeting was adjourned at 7:24pm followed by a video of a tour of W1AW.
