Holland Amateur Radio Club Membership Meeting March 14, 2011 SOCIAL PROGRAM Introductions, welcome and opening remarks: Presentation: CPR and AED overview – Steve Vanderhill N8UJD presented an overview of CPR and AED that included an interesting move. Further information and training is available from the American Red Cross. Refreshments: Coffee and cookies. 50/50 Raffle: Jim Lamberts KC8KE was not present, so no raffle was conducted at this meeting. Great Lakeshore Super Swap: Jeff VerHage KB8QAP, who was Chair of the 2010 Great Lakes Super Swap, notified the Board that he will not be available to chair the event this year. Co-chair Ivan DeWitt K8EMU announced that he will not Chair the Swap. No member present at the meeting volunteered to chair the Swap. It is likely that nobody will volunteer to be the Chair by the April 11 deadline to reserve space in the West Ottawa High School, and so there will be no Great Lakes Super Swap in 2011. 2011 Annual Banquet venue: After some discussion that offered no alternatives to the Beechwood Inn, the venue for our annual Banquet last year, most of the members present supported a return to the Beechwood Inn for our November 14, 2011 banquet. General Announcements: CW, Technician and General license classes will be ending March 31, 2011. We wish all of these students the best of success. The Holland Amateur Radio Club VE Team will sponsor a VE Test April 2, 2011 at the American Red Cross of Ottawa County, 270 James Street in Holland, Michigan. Testing begins at 10:00am. THERE WAS NO BUSINESS MEETING
