Given all the recent weather events around West Michigan as of late with winter’s fury hitting us full force, we may not realize it but Severe Weather Season is approaching us. One of the tools used to help the SKYWARN Storm Spotter community during all types of significant weather events is GRLevel3. GRLevel3 is the radar program used by a vast majority of Storm Spotters across the US.
Ottawa County SKYWARN is hosting a FREE GRLevel3 Training Course out at the Fillmore Complex, 12220 Fillmore St, West Olive, MI 49460, on Thursday, February 21st at 7:00 PM. We will be meeting in the EOC Training Room. Topics will be ranging from how to read radar data and a very basic understanding of radar data all the way to how to use GRLevel3 efficiently and get maximum use out of it as well as some pretty cool modifications you can overlay on the radar. Your instructors for this course will be Aaron – KD8VUN and Zach – KE8BSM.
You are encouraged to bring your Windows laptops / small computers with you so you can follow along. We will be providing some cool color tables and plugins as well, FREE of course. Popcorn will be provided as well! (Hey, it’s not a meeting unless there’s a snack. HiHi)
