2008 August Meeting Minutes

Minutes for the Holland Amateur Radio Club business meeting for
August 12th 2008 at 7:15 PM.

The meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM. 22 people filled in the
sign-in sheet.

* Phil K8PVH gave the treasurer’s report : the main account had a
balance of $2062.32 and the swap account had a balance of $2423.30.

Chuck W8GCW said we will have another swap meeting on Tuesday the 18th
of August We are doing ok ,but we do have a need for more door prizes.
Tickets and flyers have been printed.

* Phil K8PVH passed around the updated membership list. He asked for
everyone to look it over and to add your email address if it is not
listed. We have 69 members.

John KC8QDE said he does not like his phone to ring at 2AM when he is
in Ohio, to be told the alarm has gone off at the clubhouse. He said
that if you open a window make sure it is locked and closed right.
Give it a test and make sure it is closed before you lockup and go.

Ernie W8EL notified the repeater committee that we have an event that
will need the use of the repeater on August 23 from about 10AM to
about noon.

* Chuck W8GCW will check into jackets and shirts with the club logo on it.

* Chris KC8RQT said that the podcast guys will meet on August 21st at
7PM for a dry run.

*50/50 drawing. The jackpot of $12.00 was won by Hank KA8COB and
hats where won by N8QEM, KC8QDE, WD8NHA, and W8FIZ

John N8WVN did a program about a new notification system that can be
used for Sky warn

* The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:30 PM.
